We ("We", "Us", or "Our") operate the AI-Powered Subtitle Generation and Translation SaaS Platform (the "Service"). We are committed to protecting Your ("User", "You", or "Your") privacy and ensuring that your personal data is handled securely and transparently.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our website and use our Service, in strict compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and other applicable global data protection laws.
By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
The Core Privacy Principle: Local-First Processing
Unlike traditional video processing cloud platforms, our Service utilizes a privacy-first, browser-based architecture:
-
No Video Uploads: Your original video files are NEVER uploaded to our servers or any third-party cloud storage. All video rendering, layout styling, and final subtitle burn-in/merging happen entirely on your local device via your web browser's capabilities.
Audio-Only Transmission: To generate subtitles, our system locally extracts only the audio track from your video and securely transmits this audio data to our servers. This minimizes data transmission and ensures maximum privacy for your visual assets.
Information We Collect
We collect two main categories of information:
-
Account Information: When you register, we collect your email address, username, and account password (encrypted).
Billing and Payment Data: Payments are handled exclusively by our Merchant of Record and payment gateways (such as Paddle and PayPal). We do not store or collect your credit card numbers, banking details, or billing addresses on our own servers. Paddle/PayPal collects this data in accordance with their respective privacy policies.
User Support Communications: Any information you choose to provide when contacting customer support (e.g., feedback, bug reports).
-
Audio Track Data: Temporary audio files extracted from your videos, which are required for AI transcription (Speech-to-Text) and Translation APIs.
Usage Logs: Information about how you interact with our website, including your IP address, browser type, operating system, pages visited, and timestamps. This is strictly used for service optimization and infrastructure security.
Cookies: We use essential cookies to maintain your login session and track subscription quotas. You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings.
How We Use Your Data
We use the collected data for the following legitimate business purposes:
- To provide, maintain, and optimize the subtitle generation and translation service.
To manage your user account, track minute quotas, and verify your subscription status.
To process transactions and handle billing inquiries through our payment partners.
To detect, prevent, and address technical issues or unauthorized malicious activities (such as coupon/quota farming).
To comply with legal, tax, and regulatory obligations required by international law.
Data Retention and Deletion
-
Audio Files: Once the AI transcription and translation process is completed, the processed audio segments are automatically deleted from our primary cloud processing servers within twenty-four (24) hours, unless you explicitly choose to save your project history within your User Dashboard.
Project History: If your subscription tier supports "Save History," your generated text subtitles (SRT/ASS files) will be stored securely on our servers so you can access them later. You can manually delete any project from your dashboard at any time, which permanently removes the text data from our active databases.
Account Data: We retain your account information for as long as your account remains active. If you request account deletion, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within thirty (30) days, except where legal obligations require retention (e.g., financial audit records held by Paddle).
Third-Party Data Processors
To deliver high-quality AI features and secure checkout, we share minimized, necessary data with trusted third-party service providers who comply with strict data protection standards:
-
AI Processing Providers: We securely stream audio segments to automated speech recognition (ASR) and machine translation (MT) API providers to generate your subtitles. These vendors do not retain your audio to train public AI models.
Payment Processors (Paddle \& PayPal): To facilitate billing and global tax/VAT compliance.
Cloud Infrastructure (e.g., AWS / Google Cloud): To securely host our web server applications and user databases.
International Data Transfers
Since we provide a global SaaS service, your information may be transferred to—and maintained on—computers located outside of your state, province, or country where data protection laws may differ. By using our service, you consent to this transfer. We ensure that all cross-border data transfers adhere to legally recognized transfer mechanisms, such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs).
Your GDPR and Privacy Rights
If you are located within the European Economic Area (EEA) or jurisdictions with similar privacy laws, you possess the following rights:
-
Right of Access: You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
Right to Rectification: You can update or correct inaccurate account information directly in your dashboard.
Right to Erasure ("Right to be Forgotten"): You can request that we delete your account and all associated personal data.
Right to Data Portability: You can export your generated subtitle data (SRT/ASS formats) at any time.
Right to Object/Restrict: You can object to certain automated data processing activities.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact our Data Protection representative at the email provided below.
Security of Your Data
The security of your data is critical to us. We implement industry-standard commercial security measures, including HTTPS encryption for all data in transit and AES encryption for data at rest. However, please remember that no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the revised policy on this webpage and modifying the "Last Updated" date. We advise you to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
